Table Position Alignment

The can must be raised concentrically against the chuck for a good seam. If the can collides with the top or is not concentric, adjust the table.

Note: Poor concentricity can cause buckling or leaking, particularly on the second operation. If your can is not raised up against the chuck concentrically you may notice your seam leaking and/or the can buckling, particularly on the second operation.

If the buckling occurs on the second operation then please check your can is being raised straight up and completely concentric with the chuck.

Small Adjustments To The Turn Table Position

If the table is very close to concentric and only needs small adjusments, use the following process.

• Undo (turn counter-clockwise) the coupling nut on the turn table using an Allen key.

• Use two fingers to move the turn table slightly in the desired direction while retightening (turn clockwise) the coupling nut.

• Check the can now lifts concentrically.

Large Adjustments To The Turn Table Positioning

Prepare and access

• Unplug the power and tip the machine on its back (see above right)

• Use a 5 mm Allen key to undo the three bolts securing the turn table to the base

Reposition and secure

• Adjust the turn table position so the can is completely concentric with the chuck when raised.

• Re-tighten the three bolts with the Allen key once satisfied.

VISY Chuck Installation

The Cannular is setup for seaming B64 ends out of the box.

In order to seam VISY (CDL/CDLE) ends you will need to purchase and install a KL14670 Cannular Visy Chuck

The Cannular is shipped with a B64 chuck for B64 can ends. All KegLand aluminium cans are suited to a B64 chuck.. For non-KegLand can ends you may need a different chuck and setup information from your can supplier. VISY or CDLE/CDL can ends require a KL14670 Cannular Visy Chuck

To change the chuck:

• Unscrew the two grub nuts using a 3 mm Allen key and pull downwards to remove the chuck from the drive shaft (may require force)

• Push the required chuck as far up onto the drive shaft as it will go and fasten with the two grub nuts. Tighten grub screws securely

Note: B64 chuck used in this example. The process for installing a VISY chuck is identical

Once the chuck has been installed the rollers will need to be calibrated for use with the VISY chuck.

Note: The roller position varies between Cannular models.

For a calibration guide for the Manual Cannular please refer to the User Manual. The rollers must be calibrated to the VISY chuck after the new chuck is installed otherwise a pressure tight seam will not be achieved.

Setting Up The Rollers For Tin Cans

Both rollers have detented positions allowing 360° rotation around the drive shaft to accommodate wider cans (e.g., tin cans).

• For aluminium cans: set the detent so the roller is at its closest detent position to the chuck (closest in y-axis). Note: Out of the box, all Cannular models are setup with the rollers in position for 202 diameter aluminium cans

• For larger tin cans: set the detent so the roller is at its furthest detent position from the chuck.

Note: Rollers shown removed for clarity. Once set and tightened they generally do not need further adjustment.

Adjust Cannular Start Position

If the Cannular does not automatically return to the correct start position (with the rollers both in the furthest position from the chuck) then the microswitch position may need to be adjusted. This can be remedied by following these steps.

1. Nudge the cannular into the correct starting position where the 2nd operation roller has finished its movement and the 1st op roller is at its furthest position to the chuck. The rollers can be nudged into the correct position either by turning the blue cog by hand or by pressing the momentary switch when the on/off switch is in the off position. Refer to Operation Rollers & Chuck Images

Using a 4mm Allen Key, rremove the blue cog on the top of the unit by undoing the bolt which holds it in position

Using a 3mm Allen Key, undo the grub screw on the following piece on the drive shaft

Rotate this piece while holding the drive shaft in position (by using the Allen Key as a lever) until it is positioned against the microswitch as shown and then tighten the grub screw in position

Now reassemble the Cannular. This will correct the starting position issue
