CRITICAL SAFETY WARNINGS
Pressure Limitations: The maximum working pressure for this keg is 4.0 bar.
PRV Requirement: Before attaching a gas supply, you must have a pressure relief valve (PRV) installed on your regulator and/or keg coupler to prevent excessive pressure from entering the keg.
Approved Options: The KegLand or KegLand PRVs are both acceptable safety measures. And the has a pressure release valve installed.
Single Use Only: Do NOT reuse the keg. This product is strictly designed for single-use applications.
Integrity Check: If there is any visible leakage on the inner bag, do not use the keg.
Sharp Objects: Keep sharp blades & objects away from the keg whilst pressurised.
Orientation: Once filled, always keep the keg in an upright position. Do NOT roll the keg.
Transport: Keep the ambient temperature under 40°C (104°F) during transportation. Do NOT transport underfilled.
Storage Temperature: Store the keg indoors under 25°C (77F). Avoid direct sunlight and prolonged exposure to heat.
Material Degradation: Do NOT let aggressive alkaline, caustic, or oxidising substances come into contact with the PET keg.
Risk of Failure: Exposure to these chemicals can cause the plastic to become brittle, leading to structural failure, potential bursting, and severe physical harm or injury.
Filling Process
Talos Keg | Equipment Required

Spray the head of the keg and the filling coupler thoroughly with a food-safe disinfectant. We recommend using ethanol.

Open the liquid ball valve on the coupler to prime the beverage lines, completely purging them of all air and residual sanitiser.
Ensure the ball valves on the coupler assembly are closed, then slide the coupler onto the keg head. Push down the handle/lever to fully engage the keg.

Invert the Keg and Open the Liquid Ball Valve
Place the keg upside down on your filling table and open the liquid-side ball valve. (Note: Liquid may not begin to flow yet due to the internal counter-pressure of the keg).

Gradually Open the Gas Ball Valve
Gradually release the internal pressure by opening the gas-side ball valve. Maintain a counter-pressure level strictly above the equilibrium pressure of the beverage to ensure CO₂ doesn't break out of solution.
Recommendation: 0.5–1.0 bar is the minimum recommended pressure release setting for carbonated beverages to prevent foaming. Once the keg is filled, wait 5 seconds and close the valve.

Remove Coupler & Sanitise head of the Keg
Close both ball valves on the coupler assembly, disengage the filling coupler from the keg, and immediately clean head with warm water, and spray the keg head again with disinfectant (ethanol).

Apply the Anti-Tamper Cap to the Keg
Flip the keg back to its upright position and firmly click the included anti-tamper cap onto the keg head.

Verify Final Fill Volume via Scale
To guarantee that the keg is filled to its exact specification, cross-reference the volume using a calibrated digital scale.
Determine the exact target weight of a full 20L keg by accounting for both the specific gravity (density) of your beverage and the tare weight of the empty keg assembly.

Sanitise the Spear Head
Remove the protective dust cap from the keg. Thoroughly spray the spear head and coupler with Super Kill Ethyl-Sanitiser Spray (KL05371) to ensure a sanitary connection.

Align the Coupler
Align and slide your dispensing coupler onto the sanitised spear head.

Firmly press the coupler handle downward until it clicks and locks into place to fully engage the keg and start the flow.
Disposal
Talos Keg | Deflating & Recycling

Turn off the main gas supply line. If your keg coupler features a built-in pressure relief valve (PRV), pull the ring to safely vent the initial top-side pressure from the system.

Remove the keg coupler from the keg head. Locate the red pressure relief lever on top of the spear and twist it anti-clockwise to ensure all remaining internal pressure is completely released from the keg.

Engage the Keg
Flatten and Prepare for Disposal
Once all pressure is completely evacuated, safely flatten the PET keg shell to reduce its volume for transit or disposal.
DO NOT CRUSH OR ATTEMPT TO RECYCLE A PRESSURISED KEG. Only completely depressurised and empty Talos Kegs are safe to be handled, crushed, and processed for recycling.
Local Standards: Dispose of the flattened PET components in accordance with your local municipality's standard plastic recycling protocols.
Maximising Recyclability: For optimal environmental efficiency within Australia, completely disassemble the empty keg before disposal. Manually removing the inner bladder, the plastic base, and the top handle from the outer PET shell significantly increases the overall recyclability of the materials.
KegLand Drop-Off Alternative: Empty, depressurised Talos kegs can be returned directly to any official KegLand Distribution Centre (DC) within Australia for dedicated commercial recycling processing.
