# Hard Solo / Hard Rated (Original) - DIY / BYO Spirit Recipe

This easy to use kit allows you to quickly and easily whip up a keg of your own clone of **Hard Rated** but also allows you to add more/less sugar to get to the sugar level that you prefer. Whether you have a passion for distillation or you pop to the liquor store for some Vodka. \

We recommend making to the specific ABV as that is what has been formulated. Changing the alcohol content may affect overall flavour and enjoyment of this beverage.

**DIFFICULTY**: EASY

**TIME REQUIRED**: 10 minutes to mix ingredients + 5 min to carbonate (using Quick Carb method) OR 1 week (using Set & Forget method)\

**NOT INCLUDED:** A source of neutral alcohol (vodka) distilled by yourself\* or bought from a liquor store.

1. Dissolve 1.7kg of white sugar in 4L of hot water then add it to your KL02899 - [19L Ball Lock Keg](https://kegland.com.au/products/19l-new-ball-lock-keg-free-beverage-tag-low2-o-ring).
2. Add 2.8L of your own neutral alcohol (40% Vodka).
3. Add 4 x Pub Squash Flavouring sachets.
4. Top up to 19L with water.
5. Add 2 x FermStop sachets *(this step is critical, do not add the FermStops without having topped up the water).*
6. Mix Keg Contents Well.
7. Carbonate to 3.5 volumes CO2 (Refer to [KegLand Set and Forget CO2 Carbonation Chart](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0667/3019/7248/files/KegLand_Set_Forget_CO2_Carbonation_Chart.png) for regulator pressure and keg temperature). *\[Optimum 20psi at 2°C]*

1. Dissolve 850g of white sugar in 2L of hot water then add it to your KL02882 - [9.5L Ball Lock Keg](https://kegland.com.au/products/9-5l-ball-lock-keg-premium-brand-new)
2. Add 1.4L of your own neutral alcohol (40% Vodka).
3. Add 2 x Pub Squash Flavouring sachets.
4. Top up to 9.5L with water.
5. Add 1 x FermStop sachet *(this step is critical, do not add the FermStops without having topped up the water).*
6. Mix Keg Contents Well.
