Blunderburg Hard Ginger Beer DIY / BYO - Spirit Recipe

Our DIY / BYO Spirit recipe is super easy and convient way to have a Bundaberg Ginger Beer clone at home.

This easy to use kit allows you to quickly and easily whip up a keg of your own clone of hard schweppes lemonade but also allows you to add more/less sugar to get to the sugar level that you prefer. Whether you have a passion for distillation or you pop to the bottleo for some vodka.

DIFFICULTY: EASY

TIME REQUIRED: 5 minutes to mix ingredients + 5 min to carbonate (using Quick Carb method) OR 1 week (using Set & Forget method)


RECOMMENDED RECIPE:

19L Keg

You will need: 2.8L - Neutral spirit or Vodka (40%) 4 x KL41850 - Impressence - Ginger Beer Flavour Shot - 50mL 2 x KL41928 - Impressence - FermStop 50mL 1.4kg - White Sugar

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve 1.4kg White Sugar in 3L of hot water then add it to your to your KL02899 - 19L Ball Lock Keg.

  2. Add 2.8L of your own neutral alcohol (40% Vodka).

  3. Add 4 x Ginger Beer Flavour Shot sachets.

  4. Top up to 19L with water.

  5. Add 2 x FermStop sachets (this step is critical, do not add the FermStops without having topped up the water).

  6. Mix Keg Contents Well.

  7. Carbonate to 3.5 volumes CO2 (Refer to KegLand Set and Forget CO2 Carbonation Chart for regulator pressure and keg temperature). [Optimum 20psi at 2°C]


9.5L Keg

You will need: 1.4L - Neutral spirit or Vodka (40%) 2 x KL41850 - Impressence - Ginger Beer Flavour Shot - 50mL 1 x KL41928 - Impressence - FermStop 50mL 700g - White Sugar

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve 700g White Sugar in 1.5L of hot water then add it to your KL02882 - 9.5L Ball Lock Keg.

  2. Add 1.4L of your own neutral alcohol (40% Vodka).

  3. Add 2 x Ginger Beer Flavour Shot sachets.

  4. Top up to 9.5L with water.

  5. Add 1 x FermStop sachet (this step is critical, do not add the FermStops without having topped up the water).

  6. Mix Keg Contents Well.

  7. Carbonate to 3.5 volumes CO2 (Refer to KegLand Set and Forget CO2 Carbonation Chart for regulator pressure and keg temperature). [Optimum 20psi at 2°C]
